The Minister of Tourism has asked a private bank to join in the promotion of Cambodia’s tourism.

His Excellency Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, made the suggestion when he met with Dr. In Channy, CEO of ACLEDA Bank on Wednesday March 26.

The Minister of Tourism also asked the Bank to study the possibility of providing loans at reasonable rates to support the tourism community and to help promote Cambodia's potential tourism areas on the ACLEDA website and the bank's app.

The two sides discussed cooperation on the provision of digital services by ACLEDA Bank to facilitate payment of tourism license applications through information technology and other related services.

The Minister of Tourims and the CEO of ACLEDA Bank also discussed the possibility of supporting the tourism sector by providing loans to assist the tourism and hotel sectors, especially in areas within the government's strategic master plan, that has covered Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Mondulkiri provinces and by collaborating with tourism communities that have various businesses to use the bank's QR code.

The two institutions started to mull over the cooperation following the recommendation of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, at the official opening ceremony of the 9th River Festival in Takeo Province on March 22, 2025.
