Information Minister: Under the roof of peace, all religions in Cambodia live and thrive together in harmony

The Cambodian Minister of Information said that the Victory of January 7 has revived Buddhism and other religion in Cambodia.

His excellency Neth Phektra, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group in Kratie Province, made the remarks at a ground breaking ceremony of some facilities at Wat VeluVaon in Prek Samann commune, Chhlong district, Kratie province, on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

The Minister said that although religions have different histories, in Cambodia, all religions were reborn together after the liberation on January 7, 1979.

His Excellency Neth Pheaktra further said that the policies of the Royal Government have encouraged all religions in Cambodia to live together in harmony and thrive under the roof of peace, complete political stability.

The Minister stressed that Cambodia has been lauded by countries around the world for its religious harmony, while many countries have come and learnt the religious practice in Cambodia.

The Minister added that Cambodia has had no religious conflicts, and different religions and ethnicities have not been obstacles to building the country.
