ASEAN-Cambodia Business Summit Kick-Starts in Phnom Penh

The ASEAN-Cambodia Business Summit 2024 took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, presided over the opening ceremony of the summit on Tuesday April 2.

The summit was held for two days under the theme “Unleashing ASEAN’s Potential – Technology, Sustainability and Inclusive Growth.

Addressing the opening of the summit, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed the royal government’s support for ASEAN and Cambodia businesses for a shared future in the region. 

According to sources from the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, about 500 Chief Executives officials, senior executives, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and thought leaders from ASEAN and from diverse industries and sectors converged at the event to be familiarized with Cambodia’s strategic location and growing potential as a regional hub for trade, investment, and collaboration. The summit showcased to foreign businesspeople and investors the reality of the potential opportunity in the investment and business environment in Cambodia and aimed to strengthen Cambodia’s integration into the Asean Community, said the same sources.

The participants in the summit are also economic players from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam together with ASEAN experts, who will work to promote Mekong region’s integration and connectivity as it becomes an essential economic sub-region within ASEAN. The summit focused on infrastructure developments, investment opportunities, and digital transformations and helped business leaders, policymakers and thought leaders to explore and tape the power of technology, sustainability and inclusive growth for a thriving ASEAN community.
