Cambodia and Japan continue working closely bilaterally and multilaterally aiming to preserve peace, security and prosperity in the region and beyond

On 13 March 2024, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received His Excellency KOMURA Masahiro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, for bilateral discussion, at the Ministry.

 

His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister expressed sincere thanks for Japan's tremendous contribution to the peace process in Cambodia and highly valued Japan's development assistance across the board to Cambodia after decades of devastated civil war which is indispensable contribution for the country to further improve the socio-economic development.

 

Both sides had also an exchange of views on some regional and international issues of common interests and concerns and reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely bilaterally and multilaterally aiming to preserve peace, security and prosperity in the region and beyond.

 

Prior to the meeting, both sides signed the Exchange of Notes and accompanying documents on the extension of a Yen Loan the amount of JPY 21,104,000,000 (equivalent to approximately USD 154,000,000) for the implementation of the Regional Hospital Development Project.
