Cambodia and Vietnam are ready to further strengthen and expand cooperation in all fields to achieve more fruitful results for the mutual benefit of both nations and peoples

At a meeting in Hanoi on Monday December 11, 2023, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and H.E PHAM Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam discussed ways of fostering the cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of politics, trade, investment, tourism, health, Education, connectivity, national defense, security and border demarcation.  

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minster of Cambodia thanked the Prime Minister of Vietnam for his warm welcome to his first official visit as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet conveyed greeting from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council to the King to His Excellency the Prime Minister of Vietnam. 

H.E Pham Minh Chinh, for his part, welcomed the first official visit of Prime Minister Hun Manet and the high-level delegation of the Royal Government of Cambodia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.  The Vietnamese Prime Minister stressed that through the visit, Cambodia-Vietnam bilateral relations would grow stronger in line with the spirit of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term stability. 

The Vietnamese Prime Minister also expressed his belief that under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Kingdom of Cambodia would further develop towards achieving the vision of transforming the country into an upper-middle income country by 2030 and high income one by 2050. 

The two counterparts briefed each other on the situation of the two countries in terms of political, social and economic aspects, as well as discussed and evaluated the results of bilateral cooperation in the past and set out plans to further strengthen and expand cooperation in all fields to achieve more fruitful results for the mutual benefit of both nations and peoples, especially in the fields of politics, trade, investment, tourism, health, Education, connectivity, national defense, security and border demarcation. 

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global affairs, expressing satisfaction over mutual support in international forums such as the United Nations, ASEAN and the Mekong Sub-region.
