His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, left Phnom Penh
on Monday morning, February 26, 2024, for his routine medical check-up in Beijing, China.
The King was accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.
The heads of the Senate, the National Assembly and the royal government gathered at the Phnom Penh International Airport to see off the King.
His Majesty the King and the Queen Mother have a routine medical checkup twice a year in the People’s republic of China.
With high concern for the health of their Majesties the King and Her Majesty Queen Mother, the Chinese senior officials have organized a team of doctors to check up the Majesties twice a year.
During His Majesty the King’s absence, Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdey Say Chhum, President of the Senate, will be an acting head of state.
