The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet said that the ongoing progress has been inseparable from the existence of peace in the country.
Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister mentioned this when he inspected the progress of the construction of the new Techo International Airport in Kandal Steung District, Kandal Province on Tuesday March 12, 2024. The Prime Minister further said that all had to work together to maintain peace in order to promote the building and development of the country for future generations.
The Cambodian Premier stressed that the benefits offered by peace had to be preserved and could be turned into opportunities to promote development and prosperity for future generations.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister of Cambodia, decided
to build the Techo International Airport on an area of about 2,600
hectares, which partly lie in Takhmao and Kandal Steung districts,
Kandal province and some part of partly in Bati district, Takeo
province.
The construction of Techo International Airport was announced during
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Cambodia in January 2018.
The new international airport project is the fruit of close cooperation between Cambodia and China under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
