During an inspection tour of the construction site of Techo International Airport in Prek Sleng commune, Kandal Steung district, Kandal province on Tuesday March 12, 2024.

The Cambodia’s Prime Minister reiterated the importance of prevailing peace in Cambodia, saying that if there has had no peace in the country, there would be no need to build an airport worth US$1.5 billion.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet further said the construction of Techo International Airport has also been proving investors' confidence in peace and stability in Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that peace has provided Cambodia with such a great benefit that the construction site of the Techo International Airport has been turned from a location that was plagued with the war legacy into a large modern airport for tourists from all over the world.

The Techo International Airport, a 4F type, is a large airport that can accommodate long- haul flights. The investment company has ambitions to develop the new airport to be the largest and most modern airport in Asia.

As of February 21, 2024, the construction of the first phase of Techo International Airport 4F has reached about 66% and the total construction cost is US$1.5 billion.
