Cambodian Premier welcomes vaccinated foreign tourists and calls for adherence to health rules

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia Announced the welcome of foreign tourists who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and wanted to visit Cambodia after more than two years’ suspension to curb the virus spread.

The announcement was made when Samdech Techo presided over a ceremony to conclude the COVID-19 vaccination campaign for children aged 6 and over and to launch the vaccination of children aged 5 on the Morning of November 1st,2021.

Suspension of international tourist activities was due to the fact that Cambodia, as well as other countries in the world, suffered from the severe Covid-19 crisis, which led to a decline in the number of international tourists in the world. Most of the job opportunities, family income, national economic income, aviation, support services, as well as the development of additional skills are also severely affected by the crisis, said SAmdech Techo.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has taken steps to support the tourism sector as well as other sectors, as well as efforts to promote vaccination plans for 10 million people, as well as local foreigners in excess of the plan. As of now, the Royal Government of Cambodia has vaccinated 10 million people in the country, which is equivalent to 100% of the population to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the plan.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister has announced the full re-opening of the country in all fields and living with Covid-19 in a new normal path from November 1, 2021 onwards.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also further said the tourism sector will be re-launched step by step, for example, on November 30, 2021, Cambodia will start to receive vaccinated tourists, which means open to tourists internationally. At this point, the Royal Government of Cambodia, as well as the Ministry of Tourism, has organized three destinations for vaccinated tourists, including Sihanoukville, Koh Rong of Sihanoukville and Darasakor Resort of Botum Sakor District, Koh Kong Province.
