Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, received a courtesy call from H.E WANG Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, in Phnom Penh on Monday April 22.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who is also President of the Cambodian People’s Party, welcomed H.E Wang Yi, considering him an old friend who had worked with him for a long time.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also thanked H.E Wang Yi for his official visit to Cambodia and hoped that his visit would further strengthen the bilateral relations between Cambodia and China.
H.E Wang Yi, who is also member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Communist Party of China Central Committee pledged that China would continue to strengthen cooperation with the new government.
He said that the Chinese leadership pays high attention to the Cambodian leaders’ efforts in developing the country, stressing that the transition from the old to young generations was on the right track, and he hoped that the friendship between Cambodia and China would continue to grow.
He also hoped that the new government of Cambodia would continue its role and to maintain good relations with China.
