EU Commissioner for International Partnership Commits to Strengthen Trade, Investment, Industry, Education, Vocational Training and Health sectors

The Directorate General for International Partnerships of the European Union has been committed to strengthening trade, investment, industry, education, vocational training and health sectors as part of its moves to further strengthen and strengthen EU-Cambodia cooperation.

Her excellency Jutta Urpilainen, EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, expressed the position when she paid a courtesy call on Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Tuesday March 12, 2024.

The Cambodian Prime Minister thanked the Directorate General for International Partnerships for assistance to Cambodia’s development. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet briefed the senior official of the Directorate General on the policies and strategies set out by the royal government to continue to develop Cambodia with the vision of making it an upper middle income country by 2030 and a high-income economy by 2050.

The EU Commissioner for International Partnerships said that the European Union would continue to strengthen and expand cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia in key areas such as trade and investment, industry, health, education and vocational training. 

She further said that during her visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, she witnessed the signing of a number of agreements, including the EU-Cambodia Partnership Program for Technical Education Training 2024-2027, Trade and Private Sector Program, EU Partnership Program for Sustainable Energy Implementation in Industry, and Cambodia Partnership Program for Agriculture and Sustainable Food.
