Health Minister urges officials to commit to eradicating malaria by 2025

The Minister of Health urged the senior officials and civil servants of the National Center for the fight against malaria to be committed to joining the royal government’s plan for eradicating malaria by 2025.

Minister Chheang Ra made the point during the inspection of work progress with leaders, civil servants and staff of the National Center for Malaria Control on April 1, 2024.

The Minister said that mortality rate due to dengue fever would be less than half of the number of diseases to be expected in 2024.

The Minister also instructed the leaders and officials of the Center to continue their efforts to eradicate diseases caused by worms in high-risk areas and to conduct health education on the effects of mosquito bites, malaria transmission, eliminating water worm habitats and changing population habits. 

The Minister also praised the leaders and civil servants of the National Center for Malaria Control, for having played an active role in the fight and prevention of dengue, malaria and worms with a high sense of responsibility both physical and spiritual dedication for the health of the Cambodian people.

The Minister of Health called for the strengthening of discipline, and internal unity to bring more progress in the unit.
