Cambodia celebrated the 27th World Tuberculosis Day on March 24,2025 under the theme: " Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver ".
The event was organized by the National Center for Tuberculosis under the presidency of H.E Ms. Yuk Sambath, Secretary of State for Health on March 21, 2025.
The main objectives of this World Tuberculosis Day are to promote people’s understand of the importance of the fight against tuberculosis, so they will continue to join in order to contribute to improving social well-being and promoting the values and dignity of the entire national society.
The Secretary of State read the full message from Samdech Thipadie Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, highlighting Cambodia’s success in fighting tuberculosis over the past 20 years.
In the message, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister called for the acceleration of the implementation of the Tuberculosis control work in accordance with national and global plans, for more efforts in TB research, including proactive TB research activities in communities and public places, for Continuing to maintain a high TB treatment success rate of over 90%. and for more resources for TB control work.
The celebration of World Tuberculosis Day was also attended by Secretaries of State, Undersecretaries of State, Director-Generals, leaders of the Ministry of Health and related ministries, representatives from international partner organizations and non-governmental organizations, and students, totaling about 400 attendees.
