The press freedom in Cambodia has been assessed as continuing to be very good from 2024 to the first quarter of 2025.  

His Excellency Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, made this public at a press conference on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

The Minister said that the results were based on the survey the Ministry of Information has undertaken for the second time.

The Information Minister said that 467 journalists answered the questionnaires of the Ministry, and 81.4 per cent said that the state of the press freedom in Cambodia was very good.

 

The Minister father said that Cambodia has always suffered injustice from reports by some international organizations that have published baseless reports on human rights, freedom of expression and freedom of the press in Cambodia.

The Minister of Information stressed that the report issued by the Ministry of Information has been based on facts, on scientific methods, and answers provided by journalists who were truly selected to represent journalists across the country.
