Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, has strongly supported Pope LÉON XIV’s speech calling on the world to “embrace peace.”

Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s support was made ina letter sent to the Vatican’s President of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Sister Raffaella Petrini, on May 12, 2025.

In the letter, Samdech Techo​ Hun Sen said that Cambodia has lived in peace and prosperity for nearly three decades after suffering the devastation of injustice and violence.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed that the Pope’s call for the world to embrace peace resonated strongly in the hearts of the Cambodian Catholic community.

As President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I have always supported the efforts of all nations and peoples around the world for peace, justice, and national reconciliation, Samdech Techo Hun Sen added.
