The First Deputy Chairman of the Mine Action Authority, asked ministries, institutions and relevant parties to continue to support and work together to achieve the vision of Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet towards a landmine-free Cambodia.
The request was made by Senior Minister Ly Thuch when he chaired a meeting of the Joint Technical Working Group of the Royal Government and Development Partners on the Mine Action Sector, which was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and institutions as members of the Technical Working Group on May 13, 2025 at the headquarters of the Mine Action Authority. The Senior Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the relevant ministries and institutions for their attention and generous contributions to the humanitarian cause of solving the landmine and explosive remnants of war problem in Cambodia. Senior Minister Ly Thuchsaid that for more than 30 years, the mine action sector in Cambodia has received full support from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister, and continued strong support from Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, making great achievements for the motherland, which has also come from the unity of all ministries, institutions at both national and sub-national levels, friendly countries, development partners and all relevant parties. The Senior Minister reaffirmed that the Mine Action Authority, which is the executive arm of the Royal Government of Cambodia, will continue to work closely and coordinate with all relevant parties to promote the implementation of the President’s vision of a Cambodia free of landmines and explosive remnants of war, and to ensure that all mine clearance resources are used to achieve the stated goals as a priority.
He also asked the ministries and institutions at the national and sub-national levels and all relevant parties continue to support and work together to achieve the vision of Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister towards a mines free Cambodia and explosive remnants of war.
