Cambodia is committed to further strengthening operations and partnerships with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific to promote socio-economic development

The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, expressed his commitment to further strengthening cooperation and partnership between Cambodia and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific towards achieving sustainable development goals.

This commitment was made when Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet met Dr. Amida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday April 22, 2024.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet appreciated the cooperation and support of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific, which has contributed significantly to the process of socio-economic development of Cambodia. He stressed that the Commission has provided technical assistance and skills training in economic development, social promotion and good governance to Cambodia officials.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his commitment to further strengthening the cooperation and partnership between Cambodia and the ESCAP Commission to promote socio-economic development towards achieving sustainable development goals and building the future. For his part, Dr. Amida Salsiah Alisjahbana lauded the Royal Government of Cambodia for launching the first phase pentagonal strategy which prioritizes digital technology. The Executive Secretary of the Commission thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its good cooperation with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific.
