The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, said that in order to promote the sustainability and resilience of ASEAN development, it is important to focus on promoting the socio-economic digital transformation, especially the adoption of digital technologies for business.
Samdech Techo’s remarks were made at the Closing Ceremony of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit on "Building Our Sustainable Digital Future" on October 25, 2021 via video conference.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen further said the development of the digital economy is bringing many opportunities that not only provide new sources of economic growth, but also help increase economic productivity.
Samdech Techo continued to say that accelerating regional and global integration is also one of the top priorities to promote recovery and promote sustainable socio-economic development.
ASEAN must continue to adhere to a multilateral approach, strengthen globalization and strive to achieve the regional integration agenda under the ASEAN Vision 2025 to strengthen the interconnectedness between society and economic life.
We need to pay more attention to important issues, including: promoting liberalization of trade, services and investment more fully and in depth, facilitating cross-border travel, capacity building of micro-enterprises, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed.
