Cambodian Prime Minister Presides Over a Meeting to Review the Work of the Cambodian National Council for Women

The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, presided over a meeting organized by the National Council of Cambodia for Women in Phnom Penh on Monday April 29. 

The meeting was to review the work results of 2023 and to set work directions for 2024 of the National Council of Cambodia for Women".

The meeting reviewed the work activities of the "National Council of Cambodia for Women" in contribution to the Royal Government’s efforts to promote rights, freedoms, status, special role of women in their participation in addressing women's priorities.

Women are considered by the Royal Government as an important backbone to promote national economic development. Through the regular meetings of the "Cambodian National Council for Women", a number of recommendations have been reviewed and put forward to promote women's rights and develop women's capacity, especially to promote women's activities in social affairs.

The Royal Government headed by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and at present by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet has always paid the highest attention to women's issues. Women's rights are better promoted and on an equal footing with men in society, and more women are included in leadership roles and decision-making in ministries and institutions.

In the seventh term of the Royal Government, Samdech Khoun Sodary has been nominated as the president of the National Assembly, Her Excellency Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women's Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Pheung Sakona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, and Her Excellency Cham Nimmo, Minister of Commerce while many other women have been holding the positions of Secretary of State, Undersecretary of State, Director General, Deputy Director General and Provincial Governor.
