Cambodian Prime Minister thanks the Cambodian people, both inside and outside the country, for sending out many messages in support the Techo-Funan canal project

The Prime Minister of Cambodia, SamdechThipadei Hun Manet, thanked the Cambodian people, both inside and outside the country, for sending out many messages in support of the Techo Funan canal project.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet extended the thanks at a get-to-gather with more than 5, 000 representatives from informal economic unions and the Association of Cambodian Academic Students held in Phnom Penh on Sunday April 28 to celebrate the 138th Anniversary of International Labor Day on May 1.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that people, both inside and outside the country, and of all political affiliations have sent messages of support for the Techo Funan canal. He said that all of the supporters have viewed the project as a way for Cambodia to breathe itself and to strengthen its economy through the construction of the Techo Funan canal.

Samdech Thiapdei Hun Manet said that the Techo Funan project is not for the benefit of all Cambodians. He stressed that he would continue the mission of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and now the President of the Senate to make the Techo Funan canal into reality.

The Techo Funan project is to connect inland rivers to the sea of Cambodia, passing through Kandal, Takeo, Kampot and Kep provinces, of about 180 kilometers long.
