Cambodian Prime Minister vows to making the Funan-Techo canal project into a reality

Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, was committed to making the Funan-Techo canal project a reality.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister made the commitment at a get-together with government officials, workers and employees of Sihanoukville Autonomous port in the coastal province of Sihanoukville on Day, May 1, 2024. 

According to Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Funan Techo canal project may kick-off at the end of 2024 or early 2025.

The Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stressed that Cambodia is working with a Chinese private company to implement the Funan-Techo canal project.

The Funan-Techo project is to connect inland rivers to the sea of Cambodia, passing through Kandal, Takeo, Kampot and Kep provinces, of about 180 kilometers long.
