Cambodian Primer: Now, Cambodian youth have the ability to train in accordance with the needs of investors

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, said that young Cambodians have now had received trainings, that investors wanted the most when they have come to invest in Cambodia.

Addressing a meeting in Phnom Penh on Sunday April 26 with the Association of Informal Economy Workers' Union and the Association of Academic Staff to celebrate the 138th Anniversary of International Labor Day, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that the Royal Government has not only looked for ways of attracting investors to create jobs for young Cambodians, but also needed to think about the health and ability of the Cambodian people.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged informal economic workers to continue to enroll in vocational training at the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.

The Cambodian Prime Minister further said that the Royal Government encourages the private sector to accept trainees, students, interns in the workplace to link the theories and experiences.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and the 17 employers' associations for the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training on the internship program.

According to officials of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, as of April 19, more than 30,000 young people from poor and vulnerable families have enrolled in the free vocational trainings. They said that more than 10,000 were being trained to increase their ability to earn higher wages.
