Cambodian Senate President holds a video conversation with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, thanked the Myanmar leader for the decision to send representatives to the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Laos in January.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended the thanks on a video conversation with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administrative Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on Tuesday May 7, 2024.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen hoped that Myanmar would have its senior official attending other ASEAN meetings.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed the importance of implementing the five-point unanimous agreement and hoped that this progress would contribute to the peace process.

For his part, General Min Aung Hlaing agreed to continue sending representatives to the ASEAN Summit. 

He said that Myanmar officials would be sent to Cambodia to exchange experience with officials of the National Election Committee of Cambodia in the organization of a free, fair and transparent election. 

The two leaders also exchanged views on cultural and sports cooperation.
