One Village One Product Movement still plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Cambodia

Samdach Thipadei Prime Minister Hun Manet said that the One Village, One Product movement has played an important and more appropriate role in the Cambodian socio-economic development policy. 
In a message addressed to the nation to celebrate the 7th National Day for the promotion of the use of Khmer Products on April 9, 2024 Samdach Thipadei Hun Manet and also the honorary chairman of the National Committee for the Promotion of One Village, One Product Movement indicated that the One Village, One Product movement, which is characterized by a diversified economic development at the local level, has helped to promote the production of raw materials, cultivation and animal husbandry in contribution to achieving the vision of Cambodia as a high-income country by 2050. The Prime Minister further said that the products made were of good quality, reasonable in price and sufficient in quantity​, ​​ that can meet the needs of both domestic and foreign markets. The​ One Village, One Product movement still plays an important role and is more appropriate in the agenda of the policy of socio-economic development of Cambodia, because the concept has existed in Cambodia for a long time, stressed the Prime Minister.

Samdach Thipadei Hun Manet noted that in recent years, the promotion of the One Village, One Product movement has achieved excellent results, leading to positive changes in Cambodian products in terms of quality, hygiene standards, packaging, especially labeling.
Samdach Thipadei Prime Minister also praised the efforts of the National Committee, Ministries, Relevant Institutions as Members and the Committee for the Promotion of One Village, One Product, the Capital and Provincial authorities throughout the country in promoting all kinds of Khmer products based on the concept of One Village One Product, although the conditions of implementation have encountered some difficulties. He said that challenges have been resolved with key activities such as institutional capacity building, human resource development, product quality development, expanding market opportunities and strengthening competitiveness, creating a favorable business environment and making significant changes in all areas.
