The Minister of Rural Development said that the draft National Rural Development Policy 2025 -2035 was projected to be finalized by the Ministry in 2024. 

H.E Chhay Rithi Sen, Minister of Rural Development made the statement he chaired a meeting via video conference held on Monday May 13 with senior officials of the Ministry and 25 municipal and provincial rural development departments. 

The meeting was to review the work progress made by the working group of the Ministry in analyzing the new functions of the Ministry to ensure the more achievements of the Ministry in its efforts to improve the quality and value of people’s lives in rural areas.

The Minister of Rural Development further said that the National Rural Development Policy was to contribute to achieving the vision of the royal government of making Cambodia an upper middle-income country by 2030 and a high income one by 2050.

The Minister added that the new functions of the Ministry will ensure the fulfillment of roles and responsibilities to serve the interests of the people effectively as officials would be recruited and appointed based on knowledge and technical skills in accordance with the principles of public administration reform and the first phase pentagonal strategy under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
