The Ministry of Rural Development has begun to review data on rural water supply

H.E Chhay RithiSen, Minister of Rural Development, on May 6, 2024, chaired a meeting to conduct the review.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, the capital and provincial departments of rural development and many stakeholders.

The meeting focused on collection of data on rural water supply systems across the country, including wells, community ponds, community drinking water stations, rainwater catchment systems, water distribution systems through community micro-networks. 

The collected data will be used to map the rural water supply system throughout the country.

The Minister thanked the​ officials at all levels, as well as the 25 provincial-capital rural development departments, for their efforts to solve the problem for the people in the community in accordance with the guidelines of Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and guidelines on measures and intervention on the shortage of water due to climate change of the Ministry of Rural Development.

The Minister also mentioned the provision of public services to the people in requesting the means of rural water supply, monitoring the water quality for people to use daily.
