Interior Minister: Cambodia's Cybercrime Operation is a mission of Universal Value

Cambodia’s Minister of Interior said that combating cybercrimes and all forms of human trafficking was a mission of universal value.

H.E Sar Sokha, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, made the statement at the closing ceremony of a meeting held on Wednesday March 27 by the Ministry to present a national report on the results of the fight against human trafficking in 2023.

The Deputy Prime Minister further said that through a series of active and effective operations from the sixth mandate to the first seven months of the seventh mandate, the Cambodian authorities found that most of the crimes were committed by foreign masterminds.

H.E. Sar Sokha said that in the first six months of the seventh mandate, the Cambodian authorities received about 1,000 lawsuits related to human trafficking by foreigners.

The Deputy Prime Minister further said that both the masterminds of human trafficking and cybercrime have been brought to jail, while some involved in illegal work and others have been deported.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated his firm commitment not to allowing any foreigner or Cambodian to use Cambodian territory to destroy the interests of Cambodia and humanity in the world.
