The Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, H.E Heng Sour, said that the celebration of the anniversary of International Labor Day under the theme "One enterprise is a peaceful community" was a testament to the commitment and dedication of the Royal Government to continue to improve working conditions, rights, freedoms, and benefits for workers.

Speaking at a meeting with informal economic trade unions and academic staff associations to celebrate the 138th anniversary of International Labor Day on May 1, 2024, the Minister stressed that the selection of the theme for this year has derived from the efforts to implement the joint recommendations issued by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet during their meetings with workers since 2017.
The Minister said that the Ministry would encourage all stakeholders, especially employers in the garment sector, to volunteer to participate in the emulation programs and turn them into a national movement to develop a culture of compliance, to strengthen the harmony of professional relations and to promote responsibility.
The Minister thanked the union leaders for their cooperation with the Ministry, the Association of employers and factory owners, and the various enterprises in the fulfillment of their duties in a professional and mature manner. He also thanked the International Labor Organization for providing coordination and technical support to the Ministry of Labor and vocational training, arbitration council, unions and employers' Associations in carrying out their respective obligations.
