His Excellency Pen Bona, the spokesman of the Royal Government of Cambodia, said that the well-organized festive activities by local authorities at all levels were also attributed to the successful and jubilant observation of the festival.
The four-day New Year celebration from April 13 to 16, 2024, saw the largest number of festival goers than ever before, stressed the government spokesman, adding that hundreds of thousands of foreign tourists joined the celebration of the Khmer New Year.
The spokesperson further said that Cambodia has had a new young Prime Minister full of energy and high ability. He said that Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, has set out policies and strategies to lead the country.
The spokesman further said that Cambodia also has had veteran politicians full of unparalleled experience, with Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former prime Minister, and now the President of the Senate, has served as the mainstay of the continued implementation of the win-win politics, which brings peace and development for Cambodia.
The participation of people of all walks of life in the celebration of the Happy National New Year has been the indication of the people's trust in and warmth to the leadership of the royal government of the seventh mandate and to the future of the nation, added the spokesperson.
