Samdech Techo Hun Sen expresses his intention to see Cambodia and Turkey to Organize More Events to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, expressed his intention to see Cambodia and Turkey organize more events to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2024.

At a meeting in Phnom Penh on Monday April 29 with Her Excellency LKÜ KOCAEFE, Ambassador of Turkey to Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that he wished to see both countries launch direct flights to expand people-to-people contacts and to boost tourism, business and trade.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended his invitation to the President of the Turkish Parliament to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Forum on Tolerance and Peace and the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, which Cambodia will host in November 2024.

The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will preside over and chair the meeting of the General Assembly, and Samdech Techo Hun Sen will be the honorary chairman of the meeting.

For her part, the Turkish ambassador congratulated Samdech Techo Hun Sen on his election as President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Turkish Ambassador briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of the cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, including the expansion of schools and the increase in scholarships to Cambodian students.  Both sides discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Cambodia and Turkey and other issues, especially Turkey's request for EU membership.
