Samdech Thipadei recalls the achievement of Cambodia’s high economic growth at an average rate of 7%, Before Covid-19 epidemic

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, said that Cambodia has been among the countries with the highest economic growth in the region and in the world.

Samdech Thipadei made the statement at the official launch of the national single window on Tuesday May 7th.

The Cambodian Prime Minister recalled that before the crisis of the Covid-19, Cambodia achieved high economic growth at an average rate of 7% per year and allowed Cambodia to transform from a low-income country to a low-middle income country in 2015.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet continued to say that after the outbreaks of the Covid-19, Cambodian economy has recovered rapidly, with 5.1% in 2022 and 5% in 2023, respectively and it is projected to continue to achieve high growth in the medium to long term.

He added that Cambodia's exports averaged 13.3% between 2017 and 2023, and in the first quarter of 2024, the export trend continued to go up positively at about 17.2%.

Samdech Tipadei Hun Manet said that the Royal Government has always paid attention to improving business environment by setting policies, strategies, programs and reforms, as well as legal standards for continuous improvement.
