Senior Minister Ly Thuch calls on local authorities to continue educating people about landmines and explosive remnants of war at all public events and forums

Senior Minister Ly Thuch, First Deputy Chairman of the Mine Authority, called on local authorities at all levels to continue to pay attention to disseminating education on mines and explosive remnants of war at all meetings and forums, especially to make regular reports to the Royal Government working group in the provinces, municipalities, districts, communes / sangkats about the dangerous situation and mine issues at the local level for further guidance and action.

The Senior Minister made a call during installation of billboards to raise awareness of mines and explosive remnants of war in Stung Karch Commune, Sala Krao District, Pailin Province on the morning of November 2, 2021.

The senior minister urged police officers along the border to continue to help educate workers not to venture into unspecified geographical areas for any purpose, such as land use, collection of non-timber forest products, transit, mines. He said that explosive remnants of war must be reported to local authorities.

The senior minister also encouraged parents to continue to pay close attention to the safety of their children by being careful and staying away from unexploded ordnance and mines and landmines.
