The Chairman of the National Committee for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific said that Cambodia, under the visionary leadership of Samdach Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister, has made technology a priority in national development goals and plans.
In his address at the 80th annual meeting of the Commission in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday April 23, 2024, highlighted the important role of digital technology in socio-economic development and in solving problems to achieve the goal of global sustainable development.
The Senior Minister said that Cambodia, under the visionary leadership of Samdach Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister, has made technology a priority in national development goals and plans to expand digital infrastructure, promote digital literacy, and promote vibrant ecosystems, innovative business aims to promote economic growth, increase business competitiveness and provide new opportunities for Cambodian youths
The Cambodian Senior Minister further said that Cambodia has used technology in the protection of natural resources and the fight against climate change to ensure that economic and social development has been environmentally friendly and has not seriously affected the environment, which is an important principle of sustainable development.
The Senior Minister continued to say that Samdach Thipadei Prime Minister’s leadership vision has been not only to light the road to national development, but also to promote the strengthening of regional solidarity which will drive Cambodia together with other countries in the region towards a digital revolution with enormous potential for economic and social development and environmental protection.
The Chairman of the National Committee for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific called on the international community to maintain unity, increase cooperation, continue to share good experiences and increase the mobilization of resources to promote digital innovation and achieve the common goals of the region.
