Senior Officials of Cambodia-United Kingdom Meet to Boost Cambodia's Investment and Exports

H.E Aun Porn Moniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, met with Her excellency Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Secretary of State for Indo-Pacific Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development of the United Kingdom, to discuss a number of key agendas, on March 4, 2024 at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

H.E Aun Porn Moniroth warmly welcomed Her excellency Anne-Marie Trevelyan 's official visit to Cambodia and expressed deep gratitude for the cooperation between the two countries in the past, especially the UK's support on Cambodia and the initiative to organize the Green SEZ project in Cambodia, which has contributed a lot to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.

The Deputy Prime Minister also outlined the general situation of the Cambodian economy, the continuation of macroeconomic stability in line with the recovery of Cambodia's economic growth, the introduction of the first phase pentagonal strategy, as well as strategies and measures for a series of new reforms at the beginning of the new mandate of the Royal Government so that Cambodia can reach the goal of 2050, a high-income country.

The Secretary of State highly appreciated the significant progress of the Cambodia-UK cooperation and expressed the Government of the United Kingdom's commitment to further strengthen and expand existing cooperation and continue to promote investment in Cambodia. 

The two sides also discussed reforms to attract more foreign investors to Cambodia, such as simpler and easier business registration, reduced registration time, access to financial and capital assistance for SMEs and debt management in Cambodia, including initiatives for free trade agreements.
