The US Ambassador expresses his optimism about the strengthening and expansion of good relations and cooperation between the United States and Cambodia over the years

Cambodia’s Prime Minister highly appreciated the US Ambassador to Cambodia for his contribution to the strengthening of diplomatic cooperation between Cambodia and the United States of America.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet made the appreciation at a meeting with His Excellency Patrick Murphy, the outgoing Ambassador of the United States of America in Phnom Penh on Tuesday May 7.

The Cambodian Prime Minister said that the US Ambassador had made good achievements in promoting the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, health, tourism, culture and people-to-people contacts.

For his part, H.E Patrick Murphy expressed his optimism about the strengthening and expansion of good relations and cooperation between the United States and Cambodia over the years.

The Ambassador was pleased to see the improvement of the relations over the past 8 months under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of the 7th mandate. 

The outgoing US Ambassador also expressed his gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its good support and cooperation in the search and excavation mission for the Americans missing in action. He said that the United States would continue to support Cambodia in hosting a meeting of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use of Anti-Personnel Mines by the end of 2024.
