Cambodia asks Indonesia to Connect Direct Flights with Cambodia

Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Techo Hun Sen asked Indonesia to connect direct flights with Cambodia to increase people-to-people contacts and attract tourists between the two countries.

The request was made when Samdech Techo met with H.E Ms. Puan Maharani President of the National Assembly of Indonesia on the morning of November 24.

H.E Eang Sophalleth, Samdech Techo's personal assistant, told reporters that Samdech Techo asked Indonesia to consider the possibility of encouraging investors from Indonesia to invest in agriculture in Cambodia, such as the construction of warehouses, drying plants and rice mills to collect rice from farmers for drying, milling and exporting to Indonesia. In addition, Indonesian companies can cooperate with Cambodian farmers to grow the rice they need.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the President of the National Assembly of Indonesia discussed regional and global issues, as well as bilateral relations between Cambodia and Indonesia.

The President of the National Assembly of Indonesia spoke highly of Cambodia for organizing and chairing the ASEAN Summit and related Summits, as well as the AIPA General Assembly, for its successful results and for bringing a lot of progress to the ASEAN region.

H.E Ms. Puan Maharani also expressed her satisfaction with the relationship between Indonesia and Cambodia, which is a historical relationship and has the potential to further expand this relationship based on the existing one by promoting the relationship between the Parliament and the people.
