Cambodian Minister of Commerce hopes that the trade statement to be announced at the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference will contribute to the least developed countries

Cambodian Minister of Commerce, H.E Pan Sosak expressed his expectation that the joint statement on trade of least developed countries will be officially announced at the 12th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) which will run from November 30 to December 3, 2021.

The Minister hoped that the document will be an additional mechanism to boost trade growth for less developed countries.

The Minister's expectation was made when he attended the ministerial meeting of the least developed countries to review and approve the joint statement for the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference via video conference on October 19, 2021.

The Cambodian Minister informed the meeting about the policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia to support the multilateral trading system under the framework of the World Trade Organization. Cambodia has benefited a lot through special treatment and especially under the trade system and multilateral, the Minister stressed.

The Declaration of the Ministers of the Least Developed Countries sets out the principles and positions of the Least Developed Countries for all WTO members to review and decide the negotiations on the priorities of the Least Developed Countries to promote the country's exports into the global market.

H.E Minister Pan Sosak hoped that the principles and positions of the least developed countries set out in this declaration will be carefully considered by other members in order to achieve balanced results and common interests for developed countries​​ and for other members as well as the WTO.
