The Minister of Health urged all medical practitioners to do the best of their ability and professional skills to protect the health and well-being of the people.

H.E Cheang Ra, Minister of Health made the statement at the opening ceremony of the 3rd General Assembly of the National Medical Council for the 6-year mandate to set the work direction and to elect the 4th mandate of the council on April 9, 2025.

The Minister said that the Royal Government of the 7th continued to pay attention and give high priority to the health sector and to ensure that the health of the people has still been the core of socio-economic development.

He added that the participation of stakeholders has been essential to increasing people’s access to quality, safe and effective healthcare services. The Minister praised the Health Professionals Council for being a key player in managing healthcare professionals in Cambodia.

The Minister also made a number of recommendations to the members of the Cambodian Medical Association. Among those recommendations were strengthening the registration, licensing and renewal of medical licenses, continuing professional development for medical professionals, strengthening collaboration with stakeholders, especially with the Ministry of Health, other health professional associations and health units at all levels.

The Minister further said that the Cambodian Medical Association must be dedicated, responsible and recognized by society and work closely with professionals in providing quality medical services.

The Minister also praised all medical practitioners for their efforts to serve the people and the councils at all levels for working hard to fulfill their duties.
