Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has said that Japan is a good friend of Cambodia and an important partner that has contributed to Cambodia’s peace and socio-economic development process.
The remarks were made when Cambodian Prime Minister allowed Mr KAWASHIMA Shin, Professor of International Relations at the University of Tokyo, to pay a courtesy call and discuss work at the Peace Palace on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The professor informed about the purpose of his visit, which is to learn more about Cambodia, socio-economic development and foreign policy through meetings with representatives of several ministries, institutions and higher education institutions.
For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the professor and his colleagues to Cambodia, and his desire to learn about Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
The Cambodian Prime Minister said that the priority policy of the Royal Government of the 7th mandate of the National Assembly is to focus on the people, aiming to improve the living standards of the people by promoting health, education, job creation, and creating a favorable environment for business and investment.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues related to contributing to maintaining peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world in a context where the world is facing uncertainty.
