Cambodia-Singapore pledge to jointly prevent major crimes, especially drug trafficking, human trafficking and technological offenses

Samdech Krola hom Sar Kheng, Acting Prime Minister, and H.E Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Minister for Security Coordination of Singapore, pledged to jointly prevent major crimes, especially drug, human trafficking and technological offenses.

 

The pledge was made when Samdech Sar Kheng met with H.E Teo Chee Hean, at the Ministry ‘s office, on May 9, 2023.

The two sides exchanged views on strengthening and expanding cooperation in the fight against transnational crimes, which include traditional and non-traditional crimes, and efforts to seek opportunities to expand this cooperation in bilateral, regional, ASEAN and international frameworks to prevent some major crimes, especially drug problems. human trafficking and technology crimes.

 

Samdech Sar Kheng thanked the Government of Singapore for organizing training courses, seminars and other meetings, providing opportunities for Cambodian law enforcement officials to learn more new knowledge and experience. 

 

The Cambodian Acting Prime Minister said that the two sides were in talks to prepare a formal cooperation document.

Samdech Sar Kheng also expressed his hope that the preparation of this cooperation document was appropriate to the current context in which people have been seen travel to each other country in greater number.   

 

Samdech Sar Kheng added that the cooperation document to be adopted by the two countries was also appropriate to the circumstances of the changing situation of transnational crimes, especially non-traditional crimes.
