Cambodia’s Prime Minister warmly welcomed investors and businessmen from the Republic of Korea
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia extended the warm welcome when he received on Wednesday March 28 a group of senior management of South Korean companies.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that investment from the South Korean has contributed to the development of Camboia’s economy.
The group consisted of the President of the Board of Directors of Maekyung Media, Samsung Electronics, Booyoung, LS Group and LX International,
Maekyung Media Group is one of the largest media companies in the Republic of Korea, operating on all types of broadcasts in newspapers, television, weekly and monthly magazines, and e-newspapers. The company has not yet invested in Cambodia.
South Korea is one of the largest markets of the Kingdom of Cambodia. In 2023, Cambodia exported products to the Korean market under the CKFTA agreement in the amount of US$26.21 million, up by 2048% compared to 2022 At US$ 1.22 million.
In the first two months from January to February of 2024, Cambodia's exports to the Korean market under the CKFTA agreement amounted to US$8.53 million, up by 286.9% compared to the same period last year.
