All the 62 senators unanimously voted for Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen to be president of the upper chamber of the parliament in the first session of the Senate of the fifth term on Wednesday April 3, 2024.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen held the position of Prime Minister for 38 years from 1985 to 2023. He is the longest-serving head of the government in Cambodia’s history. As the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen has brought full peace to the nation through his win-win policy.
After the great success of the mission to lead a nation full of difficulties that cannot be calculated for more than 40 years as the Prime Minister of Cambodia, now Samdech Techo Hun Sen continues his new role as President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In the first session of the Senate of the 5th legislature on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Samdech Techo Hun Sen received support from the senator, 62 out of 62 votes, to be the president of the Senate.
The vote of confidence in Samdech Techo to lead this top institution is a clear demonstration of Samdech Techo's lofty role, which the vast majority of the Cambodian people deeply respect and always have a strong belief in wisdom and integrity. Samdech Techo's ingenuity in leading the country as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the past.
