The Royal Government of Cambodia paves the way for SCA to act as operator of Techo International Airport when launched

The Royal Government of Cambodia has given the green light to Société Concessionnaire des Aéroports - SCA, to act as an operator of the new Techo International Airport after the closure of Phnom Penh International Airport.

The Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation of Cambodia signed an agreement on April 5, 2024 with Societe Consulate de la Europe (SCA) on the principles for restoring the financial balance of the concession agreement between the Royal Government of Cambodia and Societe Consulate de La Europe.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Mao Havannal, Minister in charge of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation, said that after the signing of the agreement, the Royal Government would entrust SCA, which is currently operating Phnom Penh International Airport, to act as the operator of Techo International Airport at the start of operation.

At the same time, the Royal Government of Cambodia would extend the time for SCA to develop and strengthen the capacity of Sihanoukville International Airport, added the Minister.

He further said that the agreement would help create the necessary conditions for the French company to continue to create value for all stakeholders, providing safe and efficient aviation management services in Cambodia.
