The Cambodian Prime Minister said that the Royal Government has been considering special incentives for the private sector that couldattract investors to create production chains forfinished products in order to reduce imports by 100%.
The Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, made the statement when he presided over the closing ceremony of the second annual meeting of the Cambodian Oknha Association on March 14, 2025.
The Cambodian Prime Minister mentioned the possible consequences of changes in world trade and economy, while Cambodia has reliedheavily on exports. He said that the dependence has required Cambodia to strengthen and reassess the production process in the face of fragile global trade and economy.
The Cambodian Prime Minister stressed that not only Cambodia, but many countries have beenconcerned over the sudden changes in the US economic and trade policies.
The Cambodian Prime Minister further said that the Royal Government would review and evaluate the production structure in order to boost more production locally, especially in raw materials.
