The Acting Head of State and President of the Senate has called on the private sector and the Cambodian Tycoon Association to jointly expand cashew nut processing for export.

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, who is also Honorary President of the Cambodian Tycoon Association spoke at a get-together held on March 14, 2025 by the Cambodian Tycoon Association.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that Cambodia has become the largest producer of fresh cashew nuts in the world after the country has started to have self-processing capacity for export.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that at a recent meeting with the leaders of Vietnam, the Vietnamese sides supported investing in processing in Cambodia rather than transporting to Vietnam.
