H.E Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and H.E UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Thursday March 20, 2025 signed an exchange of notes on the grant aid.

The Government of Japan has contributed approximately US$8.3 million for the project to strengthen the capacity of the Cambodian Mine Action Center through training under the South-South Cooperation framework. An additional grant of about 2.1 million US dollars is for the implementation of the project to build a training and education building of the Cambodian Mine Action Center.

The grant funding for the two projects will contribute to Cambodia's National Mine Action Strategy towards achieving the goal of a mine-free Cambodia by 2030, and reaffirm Japan's strong commitment to continuing to support socio-economic development in Cambodia.
