World Bank supports Cambodia in developing human capital, a necessary factor towards achieving Cambodia’s Vision 2050

The World Bank Country Director for Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos, Mrs Mariam J. Sherman expressed her commitment to continue her cooperation and support to Cambodia to contribute to the realization of Cambodia’s Vision 2050.

In a courtesy call on Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on March 25, 2025 at the Peace Palace, the World Bank Country Director highlighted the strong partnership between the World Bank and the Royal Government of Cambodia in the process of Cambodia’s socio-economic development.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manetthanked the World Bank for its continued support and contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.

The Cambodian Prime Minister briefed the Royal Government’s policies and measures to diversify, promote, and develop, focusing on several sectors, including the economy, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure to support the logistics sector, and the introduction of incentive policies to attract additional investment to Cambodia, and key measures to ensure a favorable investment climate in Cambodia, especially by creating favorable conditions for the private sector to integrate and strengthen its resilience.

The two sides also discussed cooperation in building human capital in Cambodia, in which the President highlighted the Royal Government’s necessary measures to develop human capital in Cambodia through strengthening basic education, vocational training, strengthening the health sector, and creating job opportunities for Cambodian citizens.
