The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, on Wednesday April 9, 2025, presided over the official launching of the implementation of the special Program to Promote Investment in the four northeastern provinces for 205-2028.

This special program has been initiated by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet in 2024 with the goal of promoting development in the four northeastern provinces of Cambodia, including Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakkiri, and Mondulkiri.

This special program is also a simple, targeted and highly preferential private sector incentive program.

The Special Program is designed based on three pillars:

The first is to transform the four northeastern provinces into provinces with an economy based on agriculture, agro-industry and tourism andbased on the strengths of each province and in line with national policies.

The second is addressing real challenges that bring quick results, especially those that attract private investment.

And Promoting the synergy resulting from clustering effects to develop economies of scale rather than scattered and unconnected investments.

The Special Program has identified three priority sectors: agriculture, agro-industry and tourism, as the sectors are suitable for the strengths of the four provinces and complement each other.

The initiative of ​​organizing this special program stems from the ambition to promote economic activity in provinces that are far from the growth centers, and to diversify the economy by region and sector.
