The President of the Cambodian National Assembly said that the presence of high-level delegations from the Lao National Assembly and Government at the two meetings hosted by Cambodia has demonstrated mutual support in regional and international forums.
Samdach Khoun Sodary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, made the statement during an informal breakfast meeting with H.E Khambay Damlath, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on Monday November 25.
She further said that the presence of the Lao delegations together with delegations from other countries has helped raise the image and prestige of Cambodia on the international stage.
The President of the National Assembly pointed out that the successive exchanges of visits between the legislative and executive bodies have strengthened the traditional relations and long-term comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, which has brought common benefits to both countries and peoples.
H.E Khambai Damalat expressed his deep gratitude to the President of the National Assembly for organizing the warm welcome and hospitality and hoped that the traditional friendship and mutual contacts between the leaders of the two countries’ parliaments would further be enhanced.
The eleventh Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from November 23 to 26, and the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties ran from November 22 to 24, 2024.
