Cambodia will achieve 70 percent renewable energy by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050 as the world increasingly demands green supply chains.

Speaking at the opening of the China Economic and Technology Summit on November 26, 2024, the Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet was proud to announce that 62 percent of Cambodia’s energy mix already comes from renewable sources.

The Cambodian Prime Minister believed that by protecting Cambodia’s environment and the interests of investors, as the world increasingly demands green supply chains, Cambodia can provide investors with competitive advantages.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has also provided 100 percent foreign ownership of businesses with no restrictions on profits and repatriation of capital, which is a difference from some countries in the region, stressed the Cambodian Prime Minister.

The Cambodian Prime Minister continued to say that our agreements have provided a wide market reach through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership in the region, providing markets and economic power equivalent to almost a third of the world’s gross domestic product.

He also hoped that by allowing investors to keep more of their profits, we have truly made Cambodia a more competitive destination for investment.
